This study focuses on the hypertextual basis of academic writing in university students in the field of education. The construction and use of scientific knowledge is conditioned by the appropriateness of the discursive genre, as well as by the establishment of relationships between the findings of the study and the results of previous research. The elaboration of academic products is therefore organised in a hypertextual manner on the basis of selective criteria of reliable information sources, essentially located in virtual environments. In this sense, the purpose of the study is to explore the organisational model of FDP and to analyse the textual layout that favours hyperlinear reading and the creative appropriation of disciplinary knowledge in digital spaces. A descriptive quantitative methodology has been used to provide systematic information on the specificity of students' academic production. The sample corpus, selected using the non-probabilistic convenience sampling technique, is composed of 1113 Undergraduate Thesis Projects related to subjects in the area of Language and Literature Didactics. The data, analysed using the IBM SPSS statistical programme, show the students' lack of training in academic discursive genres and the skills needed to participate in quality hypertextual practices. Este trabajo centra su interés en la base hipertextual de la escritura académica en universitarios del área de educación. La construcción y uso del conocimiento científico vienen condicionados por la adecuación al género discursivo, así como por el establecimiento de relaciones entre los hallazgos del estudio y los resultados de investigaciones previas. La elaboración de productos académicos se organiza, por consiguiente, de manera hipertextual a partir de criterios selectivos de fuentes de información confiables, localizadas esencialmente en entornos virtuales. En este sentido, el propósito del estudio consiste en explorar el modelo organizativo de los Trabajos Finales de Grado (TFG) y analizar la disposición textual que favorece la lectura hiperlineal y la apropiación creativa del conocimiento disciplinar en escenarios digitales. Se ha empleado una metodología de carácter cuantitativa descriptiva que proporciona información sistemática sobre la especificidad de la producción académica del alumnado. El corpus muestral, seleccionado mediante la técnica de muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia, se compone de 1113 TFG vinculados a temáticas del área de Didáctica de la Lengua y la Literatura. Los datos, analizados mediante el programa estadístico IBM SPSS, muestran las carencias formativas del alumnado acerca de los géneros discursivos académicos y las competencias necesarias para participar en prácticas hipertextuales de calidad.

Introduction. In the last decades, due to the increased number of international research collaborations, the role of auxiliary institutions which contribute to the development of research publication competencies has increased. Competencies are required for writing, preparing, publishing, and promoting scientific articles. The formation of such competencies is carried out at different levels of higher education as part of the current Federal State Educational Standard (FSES), including prorammes of additional professional education, as well as initiatives of auxiliary university departments and non-university organisations.Aim. This article aims to analyse the resources available for the development of research publication competencies in Russia in terms of the opportunities offered by different participants of the educational process.Methodology and research methods. The study compared and analysed open access regulatory documentation, reviewed and systematised data from the websites of auxiliary university departments and non-university organisations, and used data from in-depth interviews.Results. The article describes the prerequisites for the formation of research publication competencies in higher education in Russia. An overview of effective practices to develop such competencies is given, taking into account the national context and available higher education programmes. The article provides an overview of the functionality of auxiliary university departments and non-university organisations, whose activities support publication activity. The role of academic writing teachers, consultants, translators, editors, and reviewers in the development of the competencies of the authors of scientific publications is determined. The importance of the closer interaction of all participants in the publication process is substantiated: authors, translators, and editors of texts; and teachers of scientific writing courses with editors and reviewers of scientific journals.Scientific novelty. The scientific novelty of this article refers to a detailed description of the resources for the development of research publication competencies and their compliance with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard, which have not been investigated in such correlation before.Practical significance. The results can be used to develop a set of measures to systematise approaches to developing research publication competencies.
