“…This study is also consistent with the result of Tedi et al (2021) that 63.9% of stressed respondents also experience RAS. [2] The emergence of a stress-induced disease in an individual aligns with psychoneuroimmunology studies, which have been developed to investigate the effect on the immune system. Furthermore, the emergence of RAS in an individual experiencing stress may be due to stress stimuli that can affect the sympathetic nervous system in the brain and negatively impact the body's health, one of which manifests in the oral cavity.…”

“…The released CRH will stimulate the pituitary gland to release Adrenocorticotropic Hormone (ACTH). When released, ACTH stimulates the adrenal cortex to produce cortisol, which contains glucocorticoids (14). The bodily response of glucocorticoids is that if a person experiences stress, his immune function will be suppressed, or his self-protection against microbes and tissue resistance will be hindered.…”

“…This condition occur in 20% of global population ranging from 5% to 60% based on study and population. In Indonesia, national prevalence reported at 8% to 12% including 45.42% in South Kalimantan population, 48% among prisoners, and 68% in dental students [3][4][5]. The major symptom of RAS is pain that impair nutritional and water intake possibly leading to subsequent debilitating dehydration.…”
