Abundance analysis of two late A-type stars HD 32115 and HD 37594

Abstract: Abstract. We have performed abundance analysis of two slowly rotating, late A-type stars, HD 32115 (HR 1613) and HD 37594 (HR 1940), based on obtained echelle spectra covering the spectral range 4000-9850Å. These spectra allowed us to identify an extensive line list for 31 chemical elements, the most complete to date for A-type stars. Two approaches to abundance analysis were used, namely a "manual" (interactive) and a semi-automatic procedure for comparison of synthetic and observed spectra and equivalent widt… Show more

“…Abundance calculations were performed in the LTE approximation by using 9 (Kurucz 1993; with modifications by V. Tsymbal and L. Mashonkina for PC, private communication). Atomic parameters of the spectral lines were extracted from the  data base with corrections of oscillator strengths in a few cases as described in the paper of Bikmaev et al (2002).…”

“…The software is called VWA which has a graphical user interface (GUI). The method and the VWA software have been described in detail by Bruntt et al (2002Bruntt et al ( , 2004 and the method compared to the classical EW method by Bikmaev et al (2002). The abundance analysis relies on atomic parameters from the VALD database (Kupka et al 1999;Piskunov et al 1995) and uses modified ATLAS9 atmospheric models from interpolation in the grid published by Heiter et al (2002).…”
