Abstract:Background Epidemiological studies on posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) show a lifetime prevalence rate of up to 6.8%. PTSD symptoms include re-experiencing the traumatic event, avoidant behavior for the memories of the event, and hyperarousal.
