Abstract P6-02-02: Near-infrared spectral tomography (NIRST): A prognostic assessment tool for predicting residual cancer burden (RCB) during neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) in breast cancer (BC)
Abstract:Background: NIRST, a noninvasive imaging with no ionizing radiation, has been found to be prognostic as a tool to monitor early pathologic response to NAC in BC using biophysical properties of the tumor compared with normal breast tissue. We aim to establish NIRST indicators as early surrogates of treatment response and to evaluate its potential as a predictive tool in treatment decisions.
Methods: 27 women with locally advanced BC undergoing NAC were enrolled in this pilot study. NIRST imaging … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
