Abstract P5-07-05: Obesity, adipose inflammation, and race in patients with early stage breast cancer

Abstract: Background: Elevated body mass index (BMI) is associated with increased risk of estrogen receptor-positive postmenopausal breast cancer. Mechanistically, most individuals with elevated BMI have breast white adipose tissue inflammation (WATi) which confers increased breast cancer risk, particularly in those with existing benign breast disease.
