Abstract: Overexpression of the antiviral DNA cytosine deaminase APOBEC3B has been linked to somatic mutagenesis in breast and other cancer. Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection accounts for APOBEC3B upregulation in cervical and head/neck cancers.
