Abstract: Background: Human epididymis protein 4 (HE4), also known as WFDC2, is a member of whey acidic protein (WAP) family with a presumptive role in natural immunity. HE4 expression has been increased in many cancer types, particularly in gynecologic and pulmonary cancers.
