Abstract: Myocardial ischemia/reperfusion causes zinc depletion and supplementation of zinc can attenuate ischemia/reperfusion injury. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of the intracellular homeostasis in the cardioprotective mechanism of ischemic postconditioning.
