Abstract: Introduction: Cardiovascular disease is the primary cause of death amongst end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients. Though arteriovenous fistulas (AVFs) are the access of choice for hemodialysis, joining a high-pressure artery and low-pressure vein leads to cardiac volume overload acutely.
