Abstract: INTRODUCTION: Procaspase activating compound-1 (PAC1) is a small-molecule drug shown in vitro to sequester inhibitory zinc ions from caspase-3. TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) is a pro-apoptotic ligand that binds membrane-bound death receptors, triggering the extrinsic apoptotic pathway.
