Abstract Model Repair

Abstract: Abstract. Given a Kripke structure M and CTL formula φ, where M does not satisfy φ, the problem of Model Repair is to obtain a new model M such that M satisfies φ. Moreover, the changes made to M to derive M should be minimum with respect to all such M . As in model checking, state explosion can make it virtually impossible to carry out model repair on models with infinite or even large state spaces. In this paper, we present a framework for model repair that uses abstraction refinement to tackle state explosi… Show more

“…The concept of model repair has been also explored for non-probabilistic models (Bonakdarpour and Kulkarni 2012;Buccafurri et al 1999;Zhang and Ding 2008). Similarly to probabilistic model repair, these approaches can handle a single type of model and can repair a single temporal logic formula (Carrillo and Rosenblueth 2014;Chatzieleftheriou et al 2012;Martinez-Araiza and Lopez-Mellado 2014).…”

“…This problem is an instance of model repair where some existing model/program is repaired to add new properties such as safety, liveness, fault-tolerance and so forth. Model repair with respect to CTL properties was first considered in [11] and abstraction techniques for the same are presented in [12]. Previously, Bonakdarpour et al [13] has considered the problem of model repair for UNITY specifications [14].…”

“…Recent efforts (e.g., [18]) aim at adapting model-checking abstraction techniques to model repair. Our approach fundamentally differs from model repair in two main respects.…”
