Abstract B37: Targeting tumor-stroma metabolic symbiosis for head and neck cancer therapy

Abstract: Despite aggressive therapies, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), which affects 50,000 new patients annually in the United States, is associated with less than 50% 5-year survival. HNSCC tumors display increased glycolysis, even in the presence of oxygen. Consequently, there is an increase in lactic acid (LA) production.
