Abstract A01: Innate lymphoid cells (ILCs) in murine melanoma: A new paradigm in cancer immunity

Abstract: Introduction: Innate lymphoid cells (ILCs), have emerged as novel important immune effector cells, playing a critical role also in tumor immune-surveillance. Recently, it was shown that the number of ILCs in patients with different types of cancer is significantly reduced after chemotherapy/radiotherapy as compared to healthy donors. However, so far, no data on ILC frequency, subset distribution and function in patients with melanoma are available. Therefore, we analyzed the frequency, subset distribution and … Show more

“…Besides, regulatory T cells (Tregs), regulatory B cells (Bregs), and myeloidderived suppressor cells (MDSCs) contribute to tumor growth by producing immunosuppressive effects. Innate lymphoid cells (ILCs) as the first line of immune defense, which have received much attention in the area of tumor immunity (Christianson et al, 2016). In recent years, different ILCs subsets are discovered.…”

“…ILC2s were studied initially in against allergic and helminth diseases by promoting type 2 immune response. But more and more researchers are turning their research goals to tumor diseases (Christianson et al, 2016). The current research shows that ILC2s are involved in the development of tumor diseases by producing different cytokines, recruiting different types of immune cells, expressing some immune-related surface molecules, and exhibit an antitumorigenic or tumorigenic effect.…”
