Abstract:Introduction: The initial transition from a proliferative to a senescent state is accompanied by a reduction in the activity of the cyclin-cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) complexes, which in turn could be explained by the activation of the p53-p21CIP1/WAF1 and/or p16INK4a-pRB signaling pathways. As overexpression of D-type cyclins is commonly observed in gastric cancer cells, the use of CDK4/6 inhibitors could represent a viable alternative for gastric cancer treatment. Nonetheless, senescent cell can synthesize… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
