Abstract: Objective: Abundant evidence has demonstrated the profound influence of genetic background on cardiovascular phenotypes. Previous work in the mouse has shown that genetic background-related variations in murine models of Marfan syndrome affect thoracic aortic aneurysm formation, rupture, and lifespan of mice.
