Abstract 3435: Characterizing the dependence of AP-1 transcription factors on Estrogen Receptor Alpha transcriptional activity and Fulvestrant sensitivity in ovarian cancer cells
Abstract:Ovarian cancer is the leading cause of death among gynecologic malignancies. Epidemiological evidence has suggested a role for steroid hormones in the pathogenesis of ovarian cancer, however, their precise role in ovarian cancer remains unknown. We hypothesized that Estrogen Receptor α (ERα) drives a transcriptional program that is sufficient to promote ovarian cancer cell proliferation in ER+ ovarian cancers. Preliminary data generated in our laboratory has suggested that estradiol (E2) treatment increases ce… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
