Abstract: BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: The majority of patients with multiple myeloma (MM) will eventually relapse and succumb to their disease even after high dose chemotherapy and autologous stem cell transplantation, possibly due to the persistence of BM-residing myeloma stem cells.
