Abstract:Chronic inflammation in the prostate microenvironment, with its associated increase in oxidative stress, is critical for prostate carcinogenesis since it leads to DNA mutations and epigenetic changes, as well as deregulation of stress and antioxidant proteins that protect prostate cells against oxidative damage and cell death. The lens epithelium-derived growth factor p75 (LEDGF/p75), an oxidative stress-induced transcription coactivator, is overexpressed in prostate tumors and other tumor types. LEDGF/p75 is … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
