Abstract: Background. Far-Field R-Wave (FFRW) oversensing and P wave blanking are the major causes of inaccurate atrial signal classification in current pacemaker (PM) devices leading to inaccurate stored diagnostic information and to inadequate PM reactions like mode-switching or preventive pacing.
