Mental stress-induced myocardial ischemia (MSIMI) is common in patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD) and has been associated with an elevated risk of mortality and adverse cardiac events. Microcirculation dysfunction may have a critical mechanistic role as MSIMI has been associated with microvascular constriction but not epicardial coronary stenotic burden. This may also play a role in the etiology of heart failure and other cardiovascular (CV) events. We explored the relationship … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
