Abstract: Introduction: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a leading cause of cancer related deaths worldwide. The balance between cancer cell proliferation and apoptosis, which maintains intestinal epithelial cell homeostasis, is disturbed in CRC. Furthermore, deregulation of the apoptotic pathway contributes to therapeutic resistance.
