Abstract:The Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor family of transmembrane tyrosine kinases (ErbB) is over-expressed, correlates with poor prognosis and negatively correlates with disease free survival in many cancer types. EGFR, HER2 and ErbB3 are known to be highly expressed and active, and have been targeted by both kinase inhibitors and monoclonal antibodies, both with disappointing results. Importantly, though, these therapeutics only target either a single receptor or the kinase domain alone. It is well known that t… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
