Abstract: Introduction: Phenotypic switching of vascular cells is a complex process associated with vascular disorders, including thoracic aortic aneurysm (TAA). Vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) appear to switch from a contractile to synthetic phenotype in TAA.
