Abstract 13011: A Rare Case of Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection

Abstract: Introduction: Spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) is a rare condition; an intimal tear or bleeding of vasa vasorum leads to the creation of a false lumen filled with intramural hematoma. The hematoma causes coronary stenosis, leading to subsequent myocardial ischemia. SCAD is the cause of Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) in 0.1 to 4% of cases.
