Abstract:Cancer cells utilize numerous signaling pathways to inhibit anoikis (detachment-induced apoptosis) and alter their metabolism to enable their survival in abnormal environments. Additional research on cancer cells’ ability to survive outside their normal niche has the potential to reveal mechanisms that may be targeted through the development of novel and more effective chemotherapeutics. One critical pathway that requires further understanding and has caught our interest is the Ras signaling pathway in mammary… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
