Abstract 120: Reversal of Nox 4-Induced Oxidative Stress in Type 2 Diabetic Mesenchymal Stem Cells Restores Their Capacity to Augment Postischemic Neovascularization in db/db Mice
Abstract:Rationale:
We have recently shown that experimental type 2 diabetes (db/db mouse) restricts mesenchymal stem cell’ (MSCs) differentiation capacity through a hyperinsulinemia-dependent induction of Nox 4 expression that promotes adipocytic and inhibits endothelial cell differentiation both in vitro and in vivo. We also showed that transplantation of type 2 diabetic MSCs into wild type (WT) recipients reduced post-ischemic neovascularization significantly below that of WT recipients receiving WT MSCs… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
