Abstract:We calculate double-differential cross sections of ultrasoft X-ray bremsstrahlung in electron scattering by Ar, Kr, and Xe atoms in the soft-photon approximation. The calculations are done for the isochromatic spectra (i.e., dependence on the electron energy at a fixed photon energy of 165 and 177 eV). The results are consistent with the absolute values of the differential cross sections measured by Gnatchenko et al. (Phys. Rev. A 80, 022707 (2009)) for the above-mentioned photon energies. For low electron ene… Show more
“…Kornev et al [38] consider theoretically the process of X-ray bremsstrahlung in electron scattering from noble-gas atoms. The calculated isochromatic (i.e., fixed-photon energy) spectra as functions of the electron energy, are consistent with the absolute values of the experimental differential cross sections.…”

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
