“…In the absence of micro-voids or other light scattering entities, PMMA samples did not display any stress whitening under any thermoforming conditions. Previous studies on PMMA indicated that source of stress whitening in neat PMMA was micro-void formation due to crazing [52,53] and that in rubber modified PMMA was due to cavitation or debonding of rubber particles [27,28,31,54].
