Abstract:Fructose high-salt (FHS) diets increase blood pressure (BP) in an angiotensin II (Ang II)-dependent manner. Ang II stimulates aldosterone release, which, by acting on the mineralocorticoid receptor (MR), regulates Na+reabsorption by the aldosterone-sensitive distal nephron (ASDN).
