“…In fact, causative breaks of RD can occur at or within the border of the laser scars in approximately two-thirds of those that later experience RD. 9 In our experience we have found several strategies to prevent this complication, including the demarcation of aberrant intense laser marks with lighter applications, avoidance of heavy confluent linear laser at the border of the posterior vitreous base, extension of laser to the ora serrata, and the creation of a wide margin of laser around suspicious areas.
