Background: There is growing interest in interventions that promote positive outcomes and well-being for people with aphasia (PWA) and their families, but provision is inconsistent.An asset-based approach, based on the theory of salutogenesis, focuses on what makes you well rather than ill. This approach has been used successfully across a variety of research fields, including health and social care research and practice, and has the potential to provide coherent strategies to support people living successfully with aphasia.Aim: To explore the relevance and potential of an asset-based approach to promoting and sustaining well-being for PWA and their families, across contexts and cultures.Methods: Exploratory case studies were carried out in the United Kingdom (UK), Norway, Israel, Ireland and Denmark in a variety of settings. Following an interpretative paradigm, we used qualitative methods including: interviews; appreciative inquiry; group discussions; and participatory action research. Ninety five PWA and 25 family members were asked to identify assets within themselves and their communities that promote, sustain and maintain 2 well-being, by responding to: "What makes you feel good / well / healthy?" Data were analysed using thematic analysis.Findings: An asset-based approach proved to be a powerful means for PWA and family members to explore what helps them live well with aphasia. Key themes were identified: 1) personal journey; 2) helping others; 3) connecting to self; 4) connecting to others; 5) recreation; and 6) personal attributes. Self-identification of assets, within the person and their community, and connections to these, helped PWA and their family members to maintain well-being, overcome barriers and regain confidence. Using this approach, focusing on the person's recognition, activation and mobilisation of assets, could enhance the person's understanding and restore meaning around the stroke and onset of aphasia.Conclusion: This novel exploratory research demonstrates the relevance and potential across diverse cultural contexts of taking an asset-based approach to promoting and sustaining wellbeing for PWA and their families. Focusing on maintaining connections to these assets and developing meaning around the event, could prevent some of the negative sequela of stroke.The 'patient-professional' relationship must transform into a collaborative partnership, with time and flexibility needed to introduce this approach. Further research should examine how service providers and PWA could develop and operationalise an asset-based approach in clinical and community settings and identify if there is an optimum timing for introducing this approach along the stroke pathway.

Water security is one of the key sustainability challenges in this modern era regardless of the level of development. While the problem keep on increasing year after year, man is a dominant player over hydrological system and also possesses powerful ways and means of utilizing hydrological resources and responds to hydrological dynamics in different ways. The utilization of hydrological resources is influenced by natural resources which are available in the aquatic system, communities' culture and assets. These three main factors can be divided into two groups, namely, bio-cultural and community/ anthropogenic asset. Bio-cultural asset helps to understand ways in which man interacts with hydrological systems, which behavior (s) can lead to transformations of hydrological functions, and how man reacts to these changes. While, community assets help to understand how the communities can sustainably manage themselves by identifying and mobilizing the existing, but often unrecognized assets, and thereby respond to and create local opportunities for themselves instead of depending on resources from outside. In most cases, the bio-cultural and Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approaches have been used separately to study the involvement of people and their behavior towards water resource management. It is expected that integrating of these two approaches can be useful in understanding the links between hydrology and local systems; at the same time understanding how a community can restore and be resilient to the changes that occur to the aquatic ecosystems from a cultural, social, economic, political, and biological perspectives. The combination of bio-cultural and ABCD approaches can also, be a better strategy for identifying the parameters and functional relationships which can be used in sociohydrological model simulation.

Causal propensity as an antecedent of entrepreneurial intentions

The tourism sector is a sector with many opportunities for business development. Entrepreneurship in this sector promotes economic growth and job creation. Knowing how entrepreneurial intention develops facilitates its transformation into entrepreneurial behaviour. Entrepreneurial behaviour can adopt a causal logic, an effectual logic or a combination of both. Considering the causal logic, decision-making is done through prediction. In this way, entrepreneurs try to increase their market share by planning strategies and analysing possible deviations from their plans. Previous literature studies causal entrepreneurial behaviour, as well as variables such as creative innovation, proactive decisions and entrepreneurship training when the entrepreneur has already created his or her firm. However, there is an obvious gap at a stage prior to the start of entrepreneurial activity when the entrepreneurial intention is formed. This paper analyses how creativity, proactivity, entrepreneurship education and the propensity for causal behaviour influence entrepreneurial intentions. To achieve the research objective, we analysed a sample of 464 undergraduate tourism students from two universities in southern Spain. We used SmartPLS 3 software to apply a structural equation methodology to the measurement model composed of nine hypotheses. The results show, among other relationships, that causal propensity, entrepreneurship learning programmes and proactivity are antecedents of entrepreneurial intentions. These findings have implications for theory, as they fill a gap in the field of entrepreneurial intentions. Considering propensity towards causal behaviour before setting up the firm is unprecedented. Furthermore, the results of this study have practical implications for the design of public education policies and the promotion of business creation in the tourism sector. These policies should promote causal, proactive and creative behaviour in their entrepreneurship training. In this way, such policies would boost the entrepreneurial intention of individuals, which is an essential precursor to business creation.
