ABCC9, NKAPL, and TMEM132C are potential diagnostic and prognostic markers in triple‐negative breast cancer

Abstract: Triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a highly heterogeneous disease. The aim of this study is to identify the diagnostic and poor prognostic signatures in TNBC by exploring the aberrant DNA methylation and gene expression. Differential expression and methylation analysis of the TNBC and paracancer samples from The Cancer Genome Atlas were performed. Gene set enrichment and protein–protein interaction (PPI) network analysis was used to explore the mechanisms of TNBC. Methylation‐gene expression correlation a… Show more

“…8 Previous studies have found that GNG4 expression is elevated in a variety of tumors and is related to the poor prognosis of these patients, including bladder, liver, breast and non-small-cell lung cancers. 7,[9][10][11][12] Most studies confirmed the significance of high GNG4 expression by analyzing the correlation of sequencing data and clinical data and their related mechanisms. Maina et al confirmed that GNG4 is the target gene of VHL and is related to the response pathways.…”

“…Therefore, it is expected to be a targeted drug for the treatment of diabetes and obesity ( Kanematsu-Yamaki et al, 2017 ). Upregulation of G-protein subunit γ4 ( GNG4 ) is associated with many cancers, such as colon cancer ( Song et al, 2020 ), triple-negative breast cancer ( Zhang et al, 2020 ), thymic carcinoma ( Kishibuchi et al, 2020 ), and hepatocellular carcinoma ( Ding et al, 2019 ). It was found that G-protein γ7 ( GNG7 ) is a tumor suppressor gene in the progression of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and is a novel replacement gene in the treatment of RCC ( Xu et al, 2019 ).…”

“…To compare the differences in immune cell infiltration between NP and control tissues, we analyzed NP immune cell infiltration using the ggpubr R package ( Zhang et al, 2020 ) and preprocessCore ( Yan et al, 2016 ) to obtain the levels of immune cell infiltration in each sample. In addition, we assessed the infiltration levels of immune cells in both groups.…”

“… 21 GNG11 has been identified as a core gene associated with triple-negative breast cancer, and was down-regulated in tumor tissue. 22 In addition, GNG11 was also screened as the most valuable protein involved in cervical cancer with down-regulation. 23 Our study also found the high expression of GNG11 in some cancers such as kidney cancer and esophageal cancer.…”
