Abstract: BackgroundApelin is a glycoprotein, adipocytokine that plays an important role in decreasing the vascular inflammation on cardiovascular and metabolic disorders (1). Fetuin-A is also another glycoprotein that can be an acute phase protein negatively correlates with inflammation (2). Carotid intima-media thickness (C-IMT) may indicate vascular inflammation in primary Sjögren's syndrome (3).
