Abstract: BackgroundIn rheumatoid arthritis (RA), macrophages play an important role in modulating the immunoinflammatory response through their polarization into “classically” (M1) or “alternatively activated” (M2) phenotypes and the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines (1).
