Die Schwierigkeit bei den Randbedingungen der SPH-Methode liegt demnach sowohl in der Definition von Elementen zur Aufprägung dieser Randbedingungen als auch in der Erfüllung der Anforderungen des Kernels der Partikel. Auch für die SPH-Methode ist es, wie für die FV-Methode, erstrebenswert, einen einheitlichen Ansatz zur Aufprägung von nichtgekoppelten und gekoppelten Bedingungen am Rand zu entwickeln. Insbesondere sollte die Komplexität der SPH-Methode durch die Einführung von Kopplungsrändern nicht erhöht werden. Basierend auf den vorausgegangenen Ausführungen beschränkt sich die Entwicklung eines Embedded-SPH-Verfahrens demnach auf die Entwicklung geeigneter Randbedingungen für die SPH-Methode und deren Adaptierung auf Kopplungsbedingungen zum Informationstransfer zwischen den Rechengebieten der SPH-und der FV-Methode. In den folgenden Abschnitten wird daher neben den bisher bekannten Embedded-SPH-Verfahren ebenso auf existierende Arbeiten zu nichtgekoppelten Randbedingungen eingegangen. Relevant sind im Kontext von Randbedingungen in der SPH-Methode insbesondere Verfahren zur Behandlung offener Ränder, da die Kopplungsränder einer Embedded-SPH-Methode ebenfalls für die Strömung durchlässig sind. Auf diese Verfahren wird in Abschnitt 2.2 eingegangen. Die grundsätzlichen Methoden zur Aufprägung von Randbedingungen sowie zur Erfüllung der Anforderungen des Kernels an festen Wänden sind der Ausgangspunkt zur Entwicklung von Ansätzen für offene Ränder. Daher werden in Abschnitt 2.1 zuvor Verfahren zur Behandlung von festen Wänden erläutert. In Abschnitt 2.3 werden schließlich die bereits bekannten Embedded-SPH-Verfahren vorgestellt und auf die Anforderungen hin geprüft, die in diesem Abschnitt erläutert wurden. Auf Basis der in den nächsten Abschnitten identifizierten Lücken wird in Abschnitt 2.4 abschließend der wissenschaftliche Beitrag der vorliegenden Arbeit zur Entwicklung einer Embedded-SPH-Methode definiert.
