Although it is crucial to investigate the effect of tourism components on satisfaction and revisit intention, there has not been any similar study that specifically explores the perception of young tourists visiting water parks. This study aims to investigate the effect of attraction, accessibility, and facilities on satisfaction and revisit intention. Using quantitative research methods with 269 young water park tourists, the data were analyzed by using SEM-PLS modeling. The results reveal that attraction, accessibility, and main facilities are significant predictors of satisfaction and revisit intention of young wate r park tourists. Meanwhile, the role of supporting facilities is not as important as the main ones. Support facilities do not impact revisit intention through young tourist satisfaction, even though tourists are satisfied with the support facilities, these supporting facilities do not make them intend to revisit. This study also discovers an interesting finding, that support facilities, both directly and indirectly, had no effect on revisit intention, and satisfaction does not mediate the effect of support facilities on revisit intention. These findings provide a meaningful insight for water park managers to provide tourism components that satisfy visitors so they have a strong intention to revisit.

This study aims to investigate the impacts and identify the causal links between tourism expansion and the environment among countries of the Eurozone from 1996 to 2019 in the context of the environmental Kuznets curve (EKC). To achieve this end, we used a new set of untested tourism proxies when elaborating the EKC. We disaggregated the tourism phenomenon and highlighted its heterogenous nature by including specific and high-impact market segments such as business and leisure tourism spending as well as capital investment spending. The research findings indicate the pivotal role that tourism proxies have on environmental degradation in terms of greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs). Specifically, the identified reciprocal causalities between leisure and investment spending and environmental degradation suggest some complementarities between these variables. In the case of business tourism spending, an increase (decrease) in this variable leads to an increase (decrease) in environmental degradation. The last two feedback hypotheses indicate that the primary and final energy consumption Granger cause GHGs and vice versa. Such a result offers evidence for incorporating the concept of energy efficiency in tourism. Practical implications should motivate supply and demand dimensions within the tourism system to improve efficiency in tourism flow management. The supply side should transfer the environmental message to visitors to spend wisely and consume smarter, whereas the demand side should perform pro-environmental behavior by spending wisely and acting responsibly at destinations.

The digital economy, the tourism industry, and ecological protection are closely related, which holds paramount significance for regional sustainable development. Based on panel data from 2011 to 2021 in the Yellow River Basin, the study scrutinizes the spatial and temporal variances and driving factors of the three-system coupling coordination degree. The results indicate that: (1) The development level of the three systems is significantly different. The coupling coordination degree shifts from imminent imbalance to marginal coordination, but there is a noticeable expansion in spatial disparities. (2) The coupling coordination degree of non-resource cities significantly surpasses that of resource cities, and regenerative cities outperform growing, mature, and declining cities. The overall pattern of the provincial capital cities “center-periphery”, decreased the coordination characteristics. The spatial correlation of coupling coordination degree presents two aggregation patterns of “high-high” and “low-low”, and the overall correlation gradually weakens. (3) The driving factors reveal that the economic driving force is the largest, followed by the internal driving force, and the government regulatory force and scientific and technological driving force are relatively weak. Consequently, this paper proposes to strengthen the integration and penetration function of the digital economy and have it play the linkage role between regions. This lays down a solid foundation for crafting scientifically informed policies aimed at achieving regional sustainable development.
