A Versatile Carbon Fiber Cloth‐supported Au Nanodendrite Sensor for Simultaneous Determination of Cu(II), Pb(II) and Hg(II)

Abstract: A carbon fiber cloth (CFC)‐supported Au nanodendrite (AuND@CFC) sensor was used to simultaneously measure the concentrations of Pb(II), Cu(II) and Hg(II) in real water samples. The sensor had a large electrochemically active surface area due to the hierarchical nanodendrite structure and the formation of the nanodendrite structure on the CFC was accomplished in just 5 minutes by single‐step electrodeposition. After the optimization of important experimental conditions, such as pH and pre‐concentration time, th… Show more

“…In order to confirm the successful electrodeposition of AuNDs on the surface of the CC electrode, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was employed for the morphology characterization. [40,41] As shown in Figure 1, AuNDs were deposited uniformly on the CC fiber, forming a distinct dendritic structure. These AuNDs with a diameter of about several μm were well aligned along the column.…”

“…The limits of detection (LOD) were measured as 0.95 μg L -1 and 1.84 μg L -1 for the Cd (II) and Pb (II) ions, respectively, which demonstrates the high sensitivity of the modi ed polymer electrode towards heavy metal ion detection. The separation in peaks locations for metal ions offer an accurate strategy to detect Cd (II) and Pb (II) ions, signi cantly reducing interfering effects from other heavy metal ions [44,45].…”
