“…Sereira et al [6] have presented a hygrothermal analysis of the hybrid composites under the effect of the cyclic environmental conditions by the finite element method. Yifeng and Yu [7] have constructed a hygrothermal elastic model for analyzing composite laminates under both mechanical and hygrothermal loadings by a variational asymptotic method. Upadhyay et al [8] have presented an analytical solution of nonlinear flexural response of elastically supported cross-ply and angle-ply laminated composite plates under hygrothermal environment.…”

“…Nosier and Miri [28] used combination of equivalent single layer and layer-wise shell theories and studied the free-edge effects in laminated cylindrical panels subjected to hygrothermal loading condition. Yifeng and Yu [29] used the variational asymptotic method and introduced a hygrothermal model for analyzing composite laminates. Mahadev and Chan [30] developed a simple closed-form analytical solution to evaluate equivalent bending and axial stiffness to investigate the longitudinal stress distribution of thin-walled fiber reinforced laminated composite tubes subjected to hygrothermal environment.…”

“…A general stress analysis has been developed in Sayman [21] for thick and thin multi-layered composite cylinders under hygrothermal loadings, uniform and parabolic temperature distributions have been chosen for the thermal loads and analytical solutions have been compared with the finite element solutions. A hygrothermal model for analyzing composite laminates under both mechanical and hygrothermal loadings has been constructed by the variational asymptotic method in Yifeng and Yu [22] where the results have been compared with the exact hygrothermal solutions, classical lamination theory and first-order shear-deformation theory in order to assess the capability of the method proposed. Hygrothermal cycles are known to cause degradation of composite materials due to moisture uptake and thermal expansion.…”
