“…7e-h. During long-term chronoamperometry tests, 55,56 the ethanol in the solution was consumed and a small amount of ethanol evaporated with the increase in the testing time. To reduce the above effects, the standard solution was replaced halfway through the reaction and the catalyst was reactivated.…”

“…Hydroxyl ions can adsorb onto the surface of the catalysts and the (Pd–OH ads ) is formed, followed by the oxidation from (Pd–OH ads ) to (Pd–O) during the forward scanning. Afterward, the oxidized (Pd–O) might be transferred to elemental Pd through two electrons during the backward scanning, and a typical peak appears at the potential of approximately −0.25 V, where the ECSA values can be determined by measuring the Coulombic charges (ECSAs = Q /(405 μC cm –2 mg)) . The catalysts’ ECSA values (Figure b) are about 87.1, 295.3, 441.5, 285.9, and 110.3 cm 2 mg –1 for Pd 3 Pb 1 , Pd 6 Pb 1 , Pd 9 Pb, Pd 12 Pb 1 NPs, and Pd/C, respectively, deeply affected by the doping content of the Pb element.…”

“…Secondly, the added metal may oxidize the toxic carbon‐containing intermediate into the final product adsorbed on Pd by adsorbing hydroxide ions in the alkaline medium and then release the active sites of Pd [25,43,46–48] . Finally, the prepared alloy can increase the filling degree of the antibonding orbital by changing the d‐band center of Pd, thereby weakening the bonding force between Pd and the toxic carbon intermediate [4,49–57] . In spite of many environmental problems, lead remains a metal with great potential in EORs [57,58] .…”

“…[25,43,[46][47][48] Finally, the prepared alloy can increase the filling degree of the antibonding orbital by changing the d-band center of Pd, thereby weakening the bonding force between Pd and the toxic carbon intermediate. [4,[49][50][51][52][53][54][55][56][57] In spite of many environmental problems, lead remains a metal with great potential in EORs. [57,58] In this paper, we reported a simple hydrothermal method to synthesize PdÀ Pb alloys and compared the electrocatalytic properties of the prepared PdÀ Pb NNWs with different compositions by a variety of electrochemical testing methods.…”
