A Two-Dimensional Cloud Model for Condition Assessment of HVDC Converter Transformers

Abstract: Abstract:Converter transformers are the key and the most important components in high voltage direct current (HVDC) power transmission systems. Statistics show that the failure rate of HVDC converter transformers is approximately twice of that of transformers in AC power systems. This paper presents an approach integrated with a two-dimensional cloud model and an entropy-based weight model to evaluate the condition of HVDC converter transformers. The integrated approach can describe the complexity of HVDC conv… Show more

“…As Zeineldin et al [19] show, DG can include new levels of fault currents, these authors propose a system for its management based on non-linear programming (NLP) system. As is known, AC power transformers have failures at half the rate of high voltage direct current (HVDC) converter transformers, in this sense, Li et al [20] present a model to evaluate HVDC based on a fuzzy system.…”

“…The on‐site test value is compared with the factory test value of the converter transformer to assess the operation state of the converter transformer. Because the assessment accuracy is low for a single‐test parameter, to eliminate the inaccuracy of single‐parameter assessment results, the weight model can be used to comprehensively analyze the test parameters, forming a multi‐level index assessment system, thus making the evaluation results more accurate [11].…”
