As an extension of Pythagorean fuzzy sets and linguistic term sets, Pythagorean fuzzy linguistic sets (PFSs) are powerful to describe decision-making information quantificational and qualitatively, which have received much scholars' attention. The purpose of this paper is to propose a new multiple attribute group decision-making (MAGDM) approach with Pythagorean fuzzy linguistic (PFL) information. To this end, we firstly analyze the drawbacks of existing operations of PFL numbers and propose new operational rules based on linguistic scale function. The power average (PA) operator is famous for its capacity of reducing the negative influence of unreasonable evaluation values provided by prejudiced decision makers on the decision results. The generalized Maclaurin symmetric mean (GMSM) can not only capture the interrelationship among multiple inputs but also manipulate the effect of related properties by adjusting the parameters. When considering aggregation operators of PFL numbers, we combine PA with GMSM and propose the PFL power generalized Maclaurin symmetric and the PFL power generalized weighted Maclaurin symmetric operators. We also study important properties and special cases of these operators. We continue to investigate MAGDM problems with PFL decision information and propose a novel method to determine the optimal alternative. Finally, we conduct numerical examples to demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed method. The study was aimed at analyzing Self-compassion and Trust as the Determinants of Pro-social Behavior. A correlational research design was used. Gender use as the moderating role among adults. The survey was performed to collect data. The sample was comprised of 400 participants selected by using a convenient sampling technique. Inferential statistics were used by employing Pearson Coefficient Correlation, Linear Regression, t-test for independent sample designs, and ANOVA to test hypotheses. The result showed a positive relation between trust, self-compassion and pro-social behavior. The result shows that self-compassion predicted social behavior significantly. There is a significant difference between males and females in self-compassion and pro-social behavior. Conversely, there is no significant difference in the trust level based on gender. The self-compassion, trust and pro-social behavior were significantly different concerning the education of the participants.

A study on the learning behaviors and needs of design-maker communities of practice in the era of mobile learning

PurposeThe combination of mobile devices and innovative tools offers new possibilities for the development of a community of practice for design makers. Mobile learning has become an essential method that design makers should adopt. The main content of this study is to explore the characteristics of learning behaviors and learning needs of creative design makers' group in forming a community of practice in the era of mobile learning.Design/methodology/approachThis study conducted questionnaire research on the potentially associated or directly associated population of design makers. The process of the study also combined observational and interview studies to compensate for the lack of questionnaire research.FindingsBased on the support of mobile learning technology, design makers share and co-create to achieve individual development and evolution of learning organizations, and produce creative value. Design-maker communities of practice form common communities in the framework of informal organizations to support continuous individual learning. Convergent interests or concerns in making things, real-world contexts based on makerspaces and hands-on practice based on real projects are the basis for forming design-maker communities of practice. A variety of open-source hardware, software and platforms that can support mobile learning are important for the development of design-maker communities of practice. The design-maker community of practice needs group factors, activity development, physical and technical resources, spatial support and institutional norms to enhance learning behaviors and satisfy learning needs.Originality/valueThe discovery and construction of these associated factors can help creative design practitioners form a lasting and virtuous organizational development. This study facilitates the formation of a social network for learning and knowledge sharing among design-maker communities of practice. It enhances the innovation ability and enthusiasm of design makers according to the population characteristics and learning needs of design makers. This study also facilitates the generation of a positive adaptive maker culture and maker spirit within design maker organizations.
