A transzkatéteres aorta billentyű implantáció múltja és jelene

Abstract: Calcified aortic stenosis is the most common valve disease in the developed world. Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) represents an available treatment option in patients with severe aortic stenosis who were not suitable or at extremely high risk for traditional surgical valve replacement. The present study reviews the most important historical milestones and trials of TAVI as it is used in our days. We discuss the present role of the procedure from indication to implantation.
