Although Vietnamese is the 17 th most popular native-speaker language a in the world, there are not many research studies on Vietnamese machine reading comprehension (MRC), the task of understanding a text and answering questions about it. One of the reasons is because of the lack of high-quality benchmark datasets for this task. In this work, we construct a dataset which consists of 2,783 pairs of multiple-choice questions and answers based on 417 Vietnamese texts which are commonly used for teaching reading comprehension for elementary school pupils. In addition, we propose a lexicalbased MRC method that utilizes semantic similarity measures and external knowledge sources to analyze questions and extract answers from the given text. We compare the performance of the proposed model with several baseline lexical-based and neural network-based models. Our proposed method achieves 61.81% by accuracy, which is 5.51% higher than the best baseline model. We also measure human performance on our dataset and find that there is a big gap between machine-model and human performances. This indicates that significant progress can be made on this task. The dataset is freely available on our website b for research purposes.

Aspect category detection (ACD) is one of the challenging tasks in the Aspect-based sentiment Analysis problem. The purpose of this task is to identify the aspect categories mentioned in user-generated reviews from a set of pre-defined categories. In this paper, we investigate the performance of various monolingual pre-trained language models compared with multilingual models on the Vietnamese aspect category detection problem. We conduct the experiments on two benchmark datasets for the restaurant and hotel domain. The experimental results demonstrated the effectiveness of the monolingual PhoBERT model than others on two datasets. We also evaluate the performance of the multilingual model based on the combination of whole SemEval-2016 datasets in other languages with the Vietnamese dataset. To the best of our knowledge, our research study is the first attempt at performing various available pretrained language models on aspect category detection task and utilize the datasets from other languages based on multilingual models.

Trong vài năm gần đây, các trường đại học thường khảo sát, thu thập ý kiến của sinh viên để nâng cao hiệu quả giảng dạy và cải thiện chất lượng đào tạo. Tuy nhiên việc phân tích một cách thủ công sẽ tốn nhiều chi phí về công sức và thời gian khi kích thước phản hồi lớn. Do đó, trong bài báo này, chúng tôi giới thiệu một bộ dữ liệu trên phản hồi của sinh viên cho bài toán phát hiện khía cạnh và phân loại cảm xúc theo khía cạnh. Bộ dữ liệu của chúng tôi bao gồm 5010 câu được gán nhãn theo 11 khía cạnh khác nhau (hành vi, kỹ năng giảng dạy…) và theo ba cảm xúc (tích cực, tiêu cực và trung tính) với độ đồng thuận là 88,95% và 80,52% tương ứng hai bài toán. Bên cạnh đó, chúng tôi cũng trình bày một chuỗi thí nghiệm dựa trên bộ dữ liệu dựa trên mô hình kết hợp BiLSTM-CNN so sánh với các mô hình máy học khác. Kết quả nghiên cứu cho thấy rằng phương pháp kết hợp BiLSTM-CNN đạt kết quả tốt hơn các phương pháp khác với chỉ số F1 là 78,93% và 73,78% tương ứng cho bài toán phát hiện khía cạnh và phân loại trạng thái cảm xúc theo khía cạnh. Kết quả thử nghiệm chứng minh tính hiệu quả của kiến trúc tổng thể của chúng tôi.
