Abstract:In this study an annotated translation of dialectal excerpts of Hiberno-English and other Irish cultural markers (Aubert, 2016) in Castle Rackrent (1800) by Anglo-Irish writer Maria Edgeworth (1768-1849) is made. The novel was published in the same year of the Act of Union of 1800, which attached Ireland to the United Kingdom after the Irish Rebellion of 1798.
