A Three-Level RF-PWM Method Based on Phase-Shift Control and MPWM for ADTx

Abstract: A radio frequency pulse width modulation (RF-PWM) scheme based on phase-shift control and mapping PWM (MPWM) is described. Pulse coding is the key to improving the coding efficiency, flexibility, and configurability of the all-digital transmitter (ADTx). To solve the problem that the real-time performance of the system is limited by the time resolution, the phase-shift control principle is adopted to constrain the output pulse state. It decomposes the original signal into two phase-modulated constant envelope … Show more

“…The f RF used in this paper is equivalent to the radio frequency carrier frequency, and the f P W M used refers to the PWM sampling frequency used to control the PWM signal. As can be seen from Table V, the architecture proposed in this paper is slightly improved compared with references [30] and [31]. For better EVM performance, references [30] and [31] set the ratio of PWM frequency to RF frequency to 192 times and 64 times respectively.…”

For better EVM performance, references [30] and [31] set the ratio of PWM frequency to RF frequency to 192 times and 64 times respectively. In this paper, the lowest ratio of PWM frequency to RF frequency is only 5 times.…”
