Abstract: 1935-ben, a Lancetben jelent meg az első olyan közlemény, amelyben kontrollcsoportot is "használva", az asztmás betegek speciális légzőgyakorlattal történő kezelésének eredményéről számoltak be. 1968-ban amerikai szerzők javasolták először asztmás gyermekek számára az úszást mint kiegészítő kezelést.
