“…The increasing frequency with which CIN is seen among the young calls for a more conservative approach. Colposcopy with directed punch biopsies has contributed to the gradual replacement of conization by ablative therapies (Creasman et al 1972, Chanen t984/1985, Bryson et al 1985, Baggish et al 1989. The principal disadvantage of the local ablative treatment is that the histological diagnosis must be made solely on punch biopsies.…”

“…At this time there are two major choices for ablative outpatient treatment of CIN: cryosurgery and CO2 laser vaporization (Bryson et al 1985, Baggish et al 1989). In the literature review the failure rates of cryosurgery and COz laser vaporization for CIN III were 16.7% and 19%, respectively (Stein et al 1985).…”

“…Tabor and Berget16 observed cervical stenosis causing menstrual pain and treated with cervical dilatation in only 0.4%, and a similar observation was made by Larsson et al 19 Baggish et al, 11,17 in two studies, reported a risk of cervical stenosis of l%-2%. Kristensen et al18 observed cervical stenosis in 25% and dysmenorrhea in 14.3%, and cervical dilatation was performed in 7.2%.…”

“…Partington et al 15 reported troublesome intraoperative bleeding in 8.3%, and the procedure was stopped because of bleeding in 4.2% when using the same method. When performing combination laser conization, postoperative bleeding is usually observed in 3%-6%.6'15-17 Baggish et al 17 reported the largest series of patients and reported postoperative bleeding in 3.3%. Kristensen et al,18 comparing three different methods of conization, observed early postoperative bleeding in 6.6% and late postoperative bleeding in 11.7% after laser conization, which was comparable to other conization methods.…”

“…They generally are similar to cited in the literature. [1][2][3][4] But small number of patients does not let us far going conclusions, because statistical analysis couldn't prove significant differences. They should be perceived cautiously, as a tendency.…”
