To solve the problem in target acoustic signal processing and recognition when the target flies at a low altitude based on the acoustic positioning system, which is often affected by external interference and brings false information, this paper proposes a target signal processing and recognition algorithm for low-altitude target acoustic positioning based on variational modal decomposition and the test method of multiple five-element acoustic arrays. This algorithm uses VMD to decompose the target signal into modal components with different central frequencies and then performs wavelet threshold processing on the low-frequency part of the signal. After determining the remaining signal components and the low-frequency part’s threshold, the residual component is reconstructed. Based on the test principle and calculation model of the five-element acoustic positioning system, following processing of the low-altitude target acoustic positioning signal using variational modal decomposition, the cross-correlation function method is introduced to perform correlation operations on the basic array of five acoustic sensors and then obtain the time value and time difference of the target acoustic information in each acoustic sensor, ultimately determining the spatial position of the target. Finally, we used the data fusion processing method for target coordinates in multi-acoustic basic arrays to determine the actual target position. By comparing the results obtained using the high-speed camera method with those of the proposed approach, it was found that the average error in the test area of 100 × 100 m was less than 1 m.

Aiming at the problems of big noise, lots of false targets, and accurate time extraction while tracking a flying target in the signal from a sky screen sensor, a flying target recognition and time extraction method is proposed, based on wavelet transformation. The noisy signal output by the sky screen sensor is filtered with wavelet transformation to filter out some high-frequency components; the filter is designed to handle the signal time frequency characteristics of the flying target and noise. To improve the recognition efficiency of whether the signal includes tracking of the flight target, based on a two-class discriminant model, the wavelet Fisher discriminant method is used to construct the feature vector of the false target and the flying target signal, and the recognition method of the flying target signal is studied. According to the wavelet modulus maxima theory, the single target signal is isolated, and the time moment of the flying target passing through the detection screen is calculated. The velocities calculated based on the flying target signal recognition method proposed in this paper and based on the least-mean-squares algorithm of the traditional sky screen sensor velocity measurement system are compared with the net target velocity measurement system. The results show that the velocity data obtained by the method in this paper are closer to the true value of the target flight velocity, and the average error between the velocity value obtained by the method in this paper and the standard net target velocity measurement system is less than 0.954 m/s, which verifies the superiority of the method proposed in this paper.

To meet the requirements for parameter testing within the projectile test system, a computational model for calculating the echo power of the projectile passing through the detection screen based on the principle of active laser detection target is established in this paper. On the basis of the fundamental formula of echo energy in laser detection, and by combining the energy distribution function of the detection screen, the light scattering cross‐section formula specific to the projectile, and the illuminated area formula when the projectile intersects the detection screen, the formula for calculating the echo power of projectile is derived and analyzed. Furthermore, taking into account the parameters of the laser detection target, a computational model is constructed to calculate the voltage amplitude associated with the echo power of the projectile. Combining the atmospheric transmission optical characteristics, distance variations, and changes in the projectile's reflection attitude in the test environment, we conducted a simulation analysis to assess the accuracy of the established calculation model. Additionally, experimental analysis of the echo power calculation model was performed. In both simulation and experimental analyses, the trends in the impact of atmospheric transmission optical characteristics, distance conditions, and changes in projectile attitude upon the calculation of projectile echo power were consistent. Moreover, the width of the projectile echo waveform obtained in experiments was equal to the calculated projectile duration time. These research findings can serve as a reference basis for the development of theories in laser detection target.
