“…[1,6,7] For example, the reaction of [Te(NtBu) 3 ] 2Ϫ with PhPCl 2 produces the spirocycle Te[(µ-NtBu) 2 P(Ph)NtBu] 2 , formally a tellurium() complex of the [PhP(NtBu) 3 ] 2Ϫ dianion, and elemental tellurium. [1] More dramatically, the stannatellurone [tBuNSn(µ-NtBu) 2 TeNtBu](µ 3 -SnTe) is produced from [Te(NtBu) 3 ] 2Ϫ and SnCl 2 . [8] We report here the synthesis and structures of the neutral, dimeric complex {ClIn[Te(NtBu) 3 ]} 2 (1), in which the [Te(NtBu) 3 ] 2Ϫ dianion adopts a novel, tridentate bonding mode, and the lithium chloride adduct {LiIn[Te(NtBu) 3 ] 2 }·LiCl (2) with a spirocyclic indium centre.…”
